覚えたそばから忘れてしまう — how is そばから different from てもすぐ?

'The moment I memorize it, I forget it' — apparently this is the classic example sentence for Verb そばから. Could I just say 「覚えてもすぐ忘れてしまう」instead? Is そばから adding anything beyond speed, like a sense of futility or repetition?

「てもすぐ」只是單純講「快」，「そばから」則強烈暗示一種徒勞、無限循環的無奈感——做A的動作本身彷彿沒有意義，因為B馬上把它抵銷掉了。而且そばから幾乎只用在會重複發生的日常性動作（記憶、整理、片付け），不會用在單次事件上。
